libquicktime-dev software package provides library for reading and writing Quicktime files (development), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libquicktime-dev
libquicktime-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libquicktime-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libquicktime-dev *
You will get with libquicktime-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
